Game Description

Rodland is a charming and colorful platformer that transports players to a magical world full of adventures. The game tells the story of two elven sisters, Rita and Rosie, who set out to search for their beloved mother, kidnapped by the malicious Troll King. Their mission is to defeat enemies, collect magic roses, and above all, save their mother.

Gameplay

Similar to Bubble Bobble by Taito, the wand does not directly kill monsters but only immobilizes them. To kill a monster, the wand can catch it in a magical force field, and the player can then break it until it disappears, leaving behind a power-up. Characters in Rodland cannot jump, but they can use a magic ladder to move up or down.

Rodland on Amiga

The Amiga version of Rodland was published by Storm and development started by Random Access in March 1991, with a release in September. The Amiga version of Rodland has "hidden features and bonuses" that are absent in the arcade version. The Amiga port of Rodland also adds additional levels not found in the arcade version. All of this makes Rodland a fun and colorful platformer with a unique approach to the genre. It is certainly one of the most memorable games on the Amiga. It can be boldly said that the Amiga version is one of the few games that is simply better after being ported from Arcade machines.

Sweet Multiplayer

Rodland offers cooperative gameplay, meaning two players can control Rita and Rosie to face challenges together and defeat each level. Each sister has a wand that can be used to attack enemies and pass obstacles. During gameplay, various power-ups can also be found that enhance the abilities of the characters.
