Pac-Man Arcade online

Game Description

Pac-Man is a iconic game created by Namco, released for arcade machines in 1980. It is one of the most famous and influential games in history, where players control a character in the form of a yellow sphere, trying to eat all the dots on the board while avoiding ghosts to score as many points as possible.

Gameplay

In the game, the player controls the character Pac-Man, navigating him through a maze while eating dots. The goal of the game is to eat all the dots placed in the maze, while simultaneously avoiding four colored ghosts - Blinky (red), Pinky (pink), Inky (cyan), and Clyde (orange). When Pac-Man eats all the dots, the player advances to the next level.

In the game, there are flashing dots called "Power Pellets", which cause the ghosts to temporarily turn blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for extra points.

Incredible Success

Pac-Man was a widely acclaimed critical and commercial success, leading to several sequels, numerous merchandise, and two television series, as well as Buckner & Garcia's hit single. The character Pac-Man became the official mascot of Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game remains one of the most profitable and best-selling games, generating over $14 billion in revenue (as of 2016) and 43 million copies sold, and it has a lasting commercial and cultural legacy, often cited as one of the greatest video games of all time. Over the years, numerous different versions of the game and many completely new games from various genres have been created.

Who is Pac-Man?

Pac-Man is a fictional character and the titular hero of the Pac-Man series of games. He was created by Toru Iwatani and first appeared in the arcade game Pac-Man in 1980. The inspiration for the character Pac-Man came from a pizza missing one slice, and Iwatani also stated that he rounded out the Japanese character for mouth, kuchi (Japanese: 口).

The character's name comes from the Japanese word "paku paku", which is an onomatopoeia meaning to eat voraciously. In Japan, the character was initially named "Puckman" because of his hockey puck-like shape. However, during the localization of the game for the American market, the name was changed to Pac-Man for fear that vandals might change the P in "Puck" to an F.
