Game Description

Bonk's Adventure is a platform game that gained huge popularity on the NES console. Players take on the role of Bonk, a little caveman with a big head and a sharp bite. Your goal is to defeat enemies and collect points in the colorful and charming world of this game. The game was ported to the NES and the Amiga, and was also released as an arcade game under different titles (FC Genjin and BC Genjin in Japan, B.C. Kid in Europe). Throughout the adventure, Bonk visits forests, volcanic islands, deserts, frozen regions, caves, and the castle of King Drool.

Plot

The game is set in a fictional prehistoric era. The main character is Bonk, a strong and bald cave boy who fights anthropomorphic dinosaurs and other prehistoric enemies. Bonk's mission is to rescue Princess Za (a small pink plesiosaur) kidnapped by the evil King Drool (a large green Tyrannosaurus-like dinosaur).

Gameplay in Bonk's Adventure

Bonk attacks enemies by "headbutting" them with his large, indestructible forehead. Bonk starts the game with three health hearts, which deplete to blue as Bonk takes damage, and three additional lives. Bonk's health can be restored by collecting fruits and vegetables. Bonk can also collect meat chunks as power-ups; these give him special abilities and make him stronger. There are three stages of power-up: his normal self, a second stage where he can stun enemies by headbutting the ground, and a third stage where he becomes temporarily invulnerable.
