Game Description
Pokémon Red is the first game in the Pokémon series that revolutionized the world of video games in 1996 and became a pop culture icon. Players take on the role of a young Pokémon trainer named Ash, who sets out on a journey to become the Pokémon Master.
The player begins their adventure in the small town of Pallet, where they receive their first Pokémon from Professor Oak. They choose from three available: Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. The goal then is to travel through the world of Pokémon, collect different species of Pokémon, train them, and compete with other trainers for Gym championships and badge collection.
The game Pokémon Red mainly focuses on capturing Pokémon, where the player uses Poké Balls to catch wild Pokémon and add them to their collection, then train them to evolve into their better versions. Each Pokémon has its unique abilities, types, and statistics, strengths, and weaknesses, making battle strategy a key part of gameplay.
The objective of the game is to defeat the Eight Gym Leaders and earn badges, then become the Pokémon League Champion. However, the true goal of every trainer is to complete the Pokédex, a catalog of all available Pokémon, which requires trading with other players or owning a different game version (Pokémon Blue or Pokémon Yellow).
Pokémon Red became a cult game due to its depth of gameplay, the ability to trade Pokémon between players, and the long-lasting experience that attracted children and adults, creating a Pokémon community worldwide.
