Description of Super Mario World

Super Mario World is the first Mario game released on the SNES, a milestone in terms of audiovisual presentation compared to its predecessors. The game is also part of the Super Mario All Stars package released later as a compilation of all the adventures of the Mario brothers from the NES era. As usual, the princess has been kidnapped, this time during vacation, and our brave plumbers must rescue her from Bowser's clutches. New power-ups, items, and special moves are introduced. Additionally, for the first time in the series, players can ride a dinosaur named Yoshi, who himself has several different abilities such as eating enemies or killing those that Mario and Luigi cannot.

Plot

Super Mario World serves as a sequel to Super Mario Bros. 3. Mario, along with his brother Luigi and Princess Peach, set out on a well-deserved vacation to the land of dinosaurs. Of course, things get complicated there. Peach disappears, and both heroes set out to search for her. Soon, they encounter an egg from which a small dinosaur named Yoshi hatches. He informs them that his friends have been kidnapped by evil Koopas. Mario and Luigi quickly conclude that Bowser and his minions are behind the turmoil.

Gameplay in Super Mario World

The gameplay draws from previous installments, although new elements are introduced in the game. From SMB3, world maps return, on which smaller levels are placed (a total of 96). Each of the seven worlds is crowned with a castle level, which leads to more than one path. Boss battles take place there as well.

Mario can run, jump, and even fly using a new power-up - the cape. Unfortunately, there are no incredibly interesting outfits from Super Mario Bros 3. However, we have the aforementioned green dinosaur Yoshi to ride, which gives an additional point of endurance and can eat enemies. If an enemy hits Mario while riding Yoshi, our plumber falls off, and we have a moment to get back on Yoshi before he runs away.

Multiplayer

Super Mario World includes a multiplayer mode for two players, with one player controlling Mario and the other Luigi. The game is played alternately, similar to SMB3.
