Game Description
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is a classic platformer created by HAL Laboratory, released on the Nintendo 64 console. The game continues the adventures of the sweet hero, Kirby, in his journey through a colorful and charming world, for the first time in 3D. Similar to previous games in the Kirby series, Kirby 64 is a 2.5D platformer. Although the environments and characters are rendered in 3D graphics, the gameplay is limited to a 2D plane. The game introduces Power Combos, the ability to mix powers to create more powerful ones.
Storyline
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards begins when Dark Matter invades Ripple Star, a planet inhabited by fairies. The fairy Ribbon escapes with the sacred crystal, but Dark Matter shatters it and scatters it across the galaxy. Ribbon lands on Pop Star and meets Kirby, who agrees to help retrieve the shards and defeat Dark Matter. Along the journey, they are joined by the artist Adeleine, King Dedede, and Dedede's servant - Waddle Dee, each of whom has encountered a crystal shard and been possessed by Dark Matter, forcing Kirby to fight them to free them from Dark Matter's influence.
Gameplay
