Trivia

The French release of the NES game featured endorsement from French footballer Eric Cantona, who had just moved to Manchester United F.C. The French package bears Cantona's name and likeness, with the prefix "Eric Cantona Football Challenge: Goal! 2".

It's also curious that the player on the cover is John Brady, an amateur footballer from London who lived in Chicago.
