Opis
Pooyan is an arcade game released by Konami in Japan in 1982. In North America, it was produced by Stern Electronics. Player controls "Mama", a pig whose children have been kidnapped by a group of wolves. Mama defends her home and saves her "Pooyan" (kidnapped piglets) by riding a lift operated by two "Buuyan" (controlled by the player) and using a bow and arrow with pieces of meat against wolves flying on balloons and their boss.
Mechanika
In Pooyan game, there are two types of stages. In the first, wolves ride at the bottom of the screen, and if Mama does not shoot them down, they climb ladders and try to bite her. In the second, wolves ride to the top of the screen, and if enough wolves reach there, they will push a rock onto Mama, resulting in losing a life. In both cases, the stage is completed by shooting down all the wolves, although in the second stage the boss must be shot down (which will take many shots, unless meat is used), otherwise the wolves will keep coming.
After completing the second stage, one of two types of bonus rounds begins. In one type, Mama must shoot down all the wolves only using meat, while in the other she must use regular arrows on fruits. Then the game starts again each time with faster wolves using increasingly difficult balloons.
