Game Description

Soccer Simulator is one of the games included in the Golden Four compilations, namely "Quattro Arcade" and "Quattro Sports", released by Codemasters for the NES/Pegasus console. It's worth noting that the game was also released on Pegasus as a standalone cartridge. As the name suggests, the game focuses on soccer simulation, offering players the opportunity to virtually participate in exciting matches.

Gameplay

In Soccer Simulator, players have the opportunity to take part in soccer matches, controlling their team on the grassy field. The game may offer various modes, such as tournament play (One Player Competition where you compete against increasingly difficult opponents), single matches, or even multiplayer mode, allowing competition with friends. The teams' gameplay is observed from a top-down perspective, and the game direction is vertical, which somewhat limits the mechanics as the ball will always be at the same height. However, you can choose the height at which you kick the ball during penalty kicks. As a curiosity, it's worth mentioning that using slide, the player is faster than running normally.

Unique Elements

Every soccer game from that period had its unique features that set it apart from others. In Soccer Simulator, the soccer team consisted of 7 players instead of 11. The rest of the soccer elements are consistent with reality. We have offsides, throw-ins, and the fields are large - maintaining appropriate proportions.

Teams

Teams in Soccer Simulator differ only in the colors of their shirts. USA, England, and Germany have the same shirt color - white. In the game, when teams meet on the field, one of the teams will receive red shirts.
