Game Description
Sword Master is a side-scrolling action-adventure platformer developed for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world and focuses primarily on strategic combat using shield and sword. It is also one of the NES games that features parallax scrolling background. The player takes on the role of a brave knight who must rescue a princess from the clutches of an evil sorcerer and demon. To do so, he embarks on a journey to the castle where they reside.
Gameplay Mechanics
The player must use sword and shield to navigate through 7 levels, from forests and fields, to cursed dungeons and castle. Along the way, the player encounters giant bats, wolves, skeletal warriors, dark knights, wizards, lizardmen, and gargoyles. Sword Master can swing his sword, defend with his shield, and collect power-ups that allow him to transform. For example, Sword Master can transform into a wizard and cast offensive magic spells.
