Game Description

Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown on PlayStation 1 is a first-person shooter, an adaptation of the classic title Duke Nukem 3D for a console platform. The game transports players to the action-packed and humorous world of Duke Nukem, a ruthless hero who faces an alien invasion. Players take on the role of Duke and must stop hordes of enemies, both terrestrial and extraterrestrial, to save the world. The game features new music, new enemies, and an exclusive fourth episode: "Plug 'N' Pray".

The new episode features six new enemies: a blue version of the Assault Trooper, Ghost Enforcer, Pig-in-a-Dress, zombie-like Pig Cop, Magnum P.I.G., and underwater, shark-like Sentry Drone. It also includes a new end boss, CyberKeef. The game is compatible with analog controllers.

The story of Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown is the same as in the original game, with the exception of the exclusive port episode: "Plug 'N' Pray". During this episode, Duke once again fights aliens, this time aiming to destroy a very powerful robot they have built to kill him.

Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown features complete re-rendering of all weapons and enemies, as well as a mix of custom and rearranged music, some tracks rearranged from the PC version and some originals, in streamed XA audio performed by Mark 'madfiddler' Knight, Gamesounds.co.uk.

Game Plot

The action of Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown takes place in futuristic Los Angeles, which has been invaded by aliens. Duke Nukem, a tough guy with an extraordinary sense of humor, fights aliens to save humanity. The plot, although full of absurd humor and popular culture parody, is a key element of gameplay, intertwining with dynamic shooting.

Gameplay

Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown is a first-person shooter in which players explore diverse levels, battle various enemies, and solve puzzles to find hidden bonuses. The game offers a rich arsenal of weapons, from classic pistols, through shotguns, rifles, to shrinking guns. Duke can also use various power-ups, such as steroids increasing strength, adding dynamics and diversity to the gameplay.
