Rayman online

Game Description

Rayman on PS1 is a cult platform game that gained immense popularity thanks to its unique style, exceptional graphics, and rich gameplay. Released by Ubisoft, the game transports players to a magical world where they must defeat the evil Mr. Dark and restore harmony to the land. Rayman is not only a unique experience in the platformer category but also an example of creativity and innovation in the world of video games.

Game Plot

The world of Rayman has been plunged into chaos by the evil Mr. Dark, who has kidnapped the Electoons, the source of light and harmony. Rayman, the limbless hero, must traverse various levels and collect Electoon Cages to restore balance to the world. Along the journey, he encounters various characters, like Betilla the Fairy, who aids him in acquiring new abilities.

Gameplay

Rayman is a classic platform game where players control the limbless hero, navigating various levels filled with traps, enemies, and puzzles. Rayman gains various abilities as the game progresses, such as the ability to punch, hover with his hair, or glide using a special helicopter. The game also features collecting elements, encouraging players to collect as many Electoons as possible on each level.

Each level is divided into several maps, each completed when Rayman reaches the "!" sign at the end. The player is given a certain number of lives, which are lost when Rayman receives too many hits or falls into water or a pit. If the player loses all lives, a "Game Over" screen appears, and the player can choose to continue or end the game.

Within each level are scattered small, shiny blue spheres called Tings. The player earns an extra life for every 100 collected Tings (50 in the DSi version). If the player loses a life, all collected Tings are lost. Tings can also be used to pay the Magician, a character found on certain levels, to enter a bonus stage where Rayman can win extra lives.

Other Versions of the Game

The game was originally released in September 1995 on MS-DOS, Windows, Atari Jaguar, Sega Saturn, and Sony PlayStation.

Newer Versions of Rayman

Rayman has also appeared in other editions, including versions for Game Boy Advance, PlayStation Network, DSiWare, and iOS and Android devices. In 2018, the game was released as one of the 20 pre-loaded games on the PlayStation Classic.
