Cool Spot online
Game Description
Cool Spot is a platformer created by Virgin Games, released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive console in 1993. Players take on the role of a friendly dot - the mascot of the 7UP drink, and the goal is to pass through various levels full of enemies.
Gameplay
The gameplay in Cool Spot focuses on platforming elements. Players must overcome obstacles, jump on platforms, avoid enemies, and collect points to gain extra lives. The spot can also use its movable eye to aim at enemies.
In the game Cool Spot, the player controls the titular character. Cool Spot can jump and attack by throwing bubbles with the drink in any direction. Cool Spot can also cling to various things and climb on them by jumping in front of them. In each level, the player must save other cool spots, which look exactly the same, from their cages. To do this, the player must collect a certain number of "spots", which changes (usually increases) as the game progresses.
Trivia
In the European version of Cool Spot, the 7 Up bottle was removed from the intro and replaced by a generic bottle of a similar color; the collected 7 Up logos were replaced by red disks with a "V" Virgin, and the letters "UNCOLA" were similarly replaced by letters forming "VIRGIN".
