Game Description

ActRaiser is a unique game that combines elements of platform action with city builder elements. The player embodies the character of God, who must restore peace and civilization to the land. The game consists of two main gameplay modes: action mode and strategic mode.

Action Mode

In action mode, the player controls a warrior-nymph character named Master. This mode is a classic platform game where the player must defeat enemies, collect points and weapons, and explore various levels.

Strategic Mode

In simulation mode, the player protects and leads a new civilization of Master towards prosperity, starting with two people. This part of the game requires the player to take actions that encourage population growth, including planning roads and using lightning, rain, sunlight, wind, and earthquakes as miracles. The angel can interact with monsters in the area by shooting them with arrows, as well as help the Master by indicating where to build and use miracles. One of the obstacles in simulation mode is the presence of flying monsters that try to hinder the development of civilization. Monsters come from four nests around the region at the beginning of each level. Creatures continue to spawn as the servant kills them. As the population grows, it can seal the monster nests, preventing them from reproducing and ultimately eliminating all flying monsters on the land. This increases the level of civilization in the region, allowing for the construction of more advanced structures and increasing the potential population. When all four nests are sealed, the population will start building the most advanced houses available to people in that region. The Master gains levels by increasing the total population of the world, resulting in an increase in life points and SP, used to perform miracles.

Graphics and Sound

ActRaiser impresses with its beautiful graphics and music. The graphics are colorful and detailed, and the levels are diverse and rich in detail. The music, composed by Yuzo Koshiro, is considered one of the best in video game history. Well-composed tracks add atmosphere and depth to the game.
