Demon's Crest online

Game Description

Demon's Crest is a unique metroidvania game with horror elements on the SNES platform, produced by Capcom. The player assumes the role of Firebrand, a demon known from the Gargoyle's Quest and Ghosts 'n Goblins series. The game offers a dark atmosphere, unique gameplay elements, and challenges related to exploring levels and battling powerful bosses.

Gameplay

In Demon's Crest, the player traverses various locations in an open world, acquiring different forms of Firebrand, each with unique abilities. The player must repeatedly explore levels and defeat enemies to obtain valuable artifacts and upgrades. During the game, Firebrand collects crystals that expand his abilities and grant access to new areas in previously visited locations.

Plot

The plot of Demon's Crest revolves around the Crest Stones, six magical stones representing the different elements (Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Time, and Heaven). When all the stones are combined, the Infinity Crest appears, granting its holder infinite power and the ability to conquer all kingdoms. Demons from the Demon Kingdom have long fought over possession of the Crest Stones, five of which fell into the hands of a red demon named Firebrand.

The game begins as Phalanx has already begun using the Crest Stones to become the ruler of the Demon Kingdom, while Firebrand is imprisoned in an amphitheater and forced to battle the undead Dragon Demon, Somulo. After escaping the amphitheater, Firebrand sets out to reclaim the Crest Stones and seek revenge on Phalanx.

Seeking infinite power, Firebrand challenges the Dragon Demon for the Crest of Heaven and emerges victorious, although he is severely injured. In his weakness, Firebrand's rival, the demon named Phalanx, sets a trap for him and takes all the Crest Stones except the Crest of Fire, which shatters into five fragments, one of which Firebrand retains.

Game Endings

Depending on the player's choices, three different endings are possible. The worst of them ends with Firebrand killing Phalanx and leaving the Demon Kingdom, which plunges into complete anarchy. A more favorable ending involves Phalanx sealing himself in the Crest of Heaven, while Firebrand hides all the Crest Stones. The third ending ends with Firebrand killing Phalanx after he summons the Infinity Crest to transform into a monster, and then throwing the stones off a cliff, deciding not to continue the conquest.
