Game Description

Disney's Magical Quest 3: Starring Mickey and Donald for the SNES is the third installment in the popular series of platform games featuring iconic Disney characters - Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The game was created by Capcom and offers unforgettable adventures in Disney's colorful and charming world.

Plot

Donald's nephews - Huey, Dewey, and Louie stumbled upon a mysterious book while hiding from him in the attic. Upon opening it, a hand appears and kidnaps the boys to the Land of Fairy Tales. Now Donald Duck and his friend Mickey Mouse must rescue the boys by defeating the evil King Pete. Players must traverse through diverse lands full of puzzles, enemies, and bosses to free their enchanted friends and defeat Pete.

Gameplay

Disney's Magical Quest 3 is a classic platform game where players traverse diverse levels, jumping on platforms, collecting items, and defeating enemies. Both Mickey and Donald have unique abilities that can be used to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies. The game also offers multiplayer cooperative play, allowing players to experience adventures together.

The game is designed for one to two players. You can choose to play as either Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck. The gameplay starts similarly to the previous Magical Quest games, where you jump on enemies, collect coins, and so on.

Later, both Mickey and Donald receive costumes that grant them special abilities. The first set is a knight's armor. Mickey receives a full knight's armor, consisting of a lance with a large boxing glove at the end and a shield. Donald, on the other hand, gets a barrel and a hammer since his rear end is too big for armor. Each costume has its pros and cons - for example, Donald's weapon can only be aimed forward, while Mickey's can be aimed upwards/downwards/forward. But in water, Mickey's armor drags him down and he sinks, while Donald can swim. If you're playing with two players, these attributes can be utilized, so for example, Mickey can ride on Donald's back through the water.

In each stage, there are various hidden doors that provide access to bonus games, shops, and areas with coins and treasures. In the bonus game, you choose one of three cards and, unless you get a card with King Pete's picture, you receive some kind of reward. In the shops, you can buy upgrades for your costumes, extra lives, and hearts to increase your health meter.
