Game Description

Goof Troop is a charming adventure game with puzzle elements on SNES, created by Capcom. The game is based on the popular Disney animated series of the same name, and players take on the roles of Goofy and Max, father and son, who set out to a tropical island to rescue their neighbors, Pete and his son PJ, who have been kidnapped by pirates.

The game is not long or difficult, but it is a game that players return to time and time again. It has a charming appearance, with adorable and beautifully drawn sprites, and the soundtrack is fantastic. The quality of the instruments is very high for an SNES game, and the original melodies are some of the best you'll hear in a Capcom game on the SNES.

Gameplay

Goof Troop offers both single-player and cooperative two-player modes. Players traverse various levels, solving puzzles, fighting enemies, and collecting items. The game features simple and intuitive mechanics, making it accessible to players of all ages.

Goofy moves slower than Max but can deal more damage to enemies. The game is a mix of action and puzzle-solving, somewhat reminiscent of Irem’s Kickle Cubicle. The game is very fun in single-player mode, but it's the fantastic two-player cooperative mode that sets this game apart from other SNES games.

Goof Troop consists of five areas on Spoonerville Island: the beach, the village besieged by pirates, the haunted castle, the cave, and finally the pirate ship where Pete and PJ are being held captive. Each of the five stages consists of several distinct locations on one screen, mainly involving killing enemies, throwing various items at them, breaking blocks, and finding keys to reach the boss.
