Game Description

X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse is based on the X-Men comics from Marvel Comics. In the game, the player controls five X-Men members: Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Psylocke, and Wolverine. Each of them has their own goals, moves, and abilities.

Each of the selected characters has their own unique abilities and attacks, introducing diversity to the gameplay. Players traverse various levels, fighting enemies, solving puzzles, and avoiding traps. As they progress through the game, players encounter various members of the Brotherhood of Mutants and other well-known enemies from the X-Men comics.

Gameplay

An important feature of the game is that each character has their own storyline and must face unique challenges, making the game offer multiple playthroughs, encouraging players to try out different characters. Players have a limited number of lives, which count for all five characters, not just one. Levels can be played in any order. At the end of each level, the player must face a boss and defeat them. Then, the next three levels are linear and require defeating each boss.

Playable Characters

Beast - possesses superhuman strength and agility.
Cyclops - shoots a laser beam from his eyes.
Gambit - has the ability to manipulate kinetic energy and charge objects with it. He uses a staff and cards in combat.
Psylocke - uses telepathic abilities and, as a martial arts expert, has the most techniques of all playable characters.
Wolverine - a mutant with heightened senses, enhanced physical abilities, and bones and claws coated with adamantium.
