Opis gry

Wacky Races is a 2D platform game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), developed and published by Atlus, in which the player controls Muttley and must run through the world to save Dasterdly who crashed his airplane chasing a carrier pigeon. The game is based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon of the same name and features the character of Muttley as the main protagonist. The game includes an arrangement of the title song from the Japanese dubbing of the television series played on the title screen.

The player controls Muttley through three different areas (Hip Hop, Splish Splash, and Go Go America), which can be chosen from the map screen, and all three must be completed to reach the end of the game. The first two areas have three stages to complete each, while Go Go America has four.

Muttley can bite enemies, throw bombs at them, attack them from a distance by barking "bark shot", and glide in the air for a moment using his tail. All attacks are upgraded by collecting bones scattered throughout the stages. You can also upgrade the maximum amount of life, i.e., hearts. Each of the ten stages ends with a boss fight against one of ten other racers known from the cartoon. Defeating one of them allows you to move on to the next stage, and defeating all three/four in a given area allows you to move on to the next area. You can also collect diamonds which, when collected 100, give you an additional life.

The enemies in Wacky Races are quite diverse and unique to the specific areas they appear in. You will fight bees, snails, knights, chess pieces, gorillas, snowmen, octopuses, sharks, kittens, rabbits, and many others. Some you will encounter in the forest, some in the desert, some in the mine, or underwater, and others in the candy land.
